Among the notable songs, “I Would Die 4 U”, a classic from the original album, is being performed by Kollins and Webb, who take on the roles of Prince’s alter ego, the Kid, and his love interest, Apollonia.

In an intimate setting at Vinegar Hill Sound, Brooklyn, the duo recorded their own acoustic rendition of the track, adding subtle layers of eroticism to the song’s theme of selfless, divine love. This performance is just one of several acoustic adaptations they’ve shared with the public. Earlier this year, a video of their version of “Take Me With U” was released, alongside their rendition of “Kiss.”

After weeks of dedicated rehearsals in New York City, Kollins, Webb, and their castmates will be heading to Minneapolis next week to finalize preparations for the musical, which is scheduled to run from October 16 to November 16.
