Warner’s career took off with his portrayal of Theo Huxtable, the only son of Bill Cosby’s character, Heathcliff Huxtable, from 1984 to 1992. Reflecting on the show in 2023, Warner expressed pride in being part of a series that left a significant mark on both Black and American culture. He stated, "I know I can speak for all the cast when I say The Cosby Show is something that we are all still very proud of."

Despite the show’s complicated legacy due to the allegations against Bill Cosby, Warner maintained a sense of pride in the impact the series had. He acknowledged the changing perceptions surrounding the show but emphasized the importance of its cultural significance.
A Diverse Career Beyond The Cosby Show
Following his breakout role, Warner starred in several successful television series, including Malcolm & Eddie alongside Eddie Griffin from 1996 to 2000. He also gained recognition for his role as Alex Reed in Reed Between the Lines, which aired from 2011 to 2015. More recently, he appeared in Major Crimes, Suits, and The Resident, with his latest credits including 9-1-1 and Alert: Missing Persons Unit.

In June 2023, Warner launched a podcast titled Not All Hood, aimed at breaking down barriers to mental health within the Black community. He described the podcast as a safe space for vulnerability, stating, "It’s been an interesting experience for me, because it’s a place where I feel safe enough to be able to be as vulnerable as I allow myself to be."
